Gerard Way

Gerard Way (born April 9, 1977) from New Jersey, is the lead singer of the band My Chemical Romance, brother to band mate Mikey Way (bass). When he lived in New Jersey, he used to stalk Christina Ricci, after finding out she lived near there. There he went to his first concert (Bruce Springsteen) with his mother, and once worked as a cart boy/bagger in a Grocery store.

#Family & Childhood

Gerard is 1/2 Italian (mother's side), and also 1/2 Scottish (father's side). Gerard's grandmother Elena taught him how to draw, sing and perform and started to play in bands when he was only eleven. Gerard is obsessed with the idea of death, and has had many spooky experiences with Ouija boards. When he was a child, he realized that everyone he cares for will die, and everyone will die alone.

#Drugs, alcohol & art

He has recently recovered from an addiction to drugs and alcohol, being sober as of August 2004, and visits a therapist when the band's not on tour. However, he still enjoys smoking Marlboro red cigarettes. He attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City, with the dream of being a comic book artist, (he loved comic books, and his favorite superhero was always Wolverine) before forming My Chemical Romance in 2001. He pitched a cartoon for Cartoon Network called "The Breakfast Monkey", but it sadly didn't work out. He considers himself a failed comic book artist yet has still done the artwork for the My Chemical Romance albums and used to estetică merchandise for the band "Thursday".

Favorite bands

His favorite band is now Iron Maiden, but is still a David Bowie fan. He has been obsessed with revenge ever since he heard the Negru Flag song 'Revenge'. He has undoubtedly confirmed that he thinks Brody Dalle from the Distillers is hot, and has always loved bats. He owns the same color Stratocasters as Billie Joe Armstrong (front man of the smash pop/punk trio Green Day), and his dream car has always been a red Corvette with the license plate "KNIVES".

Gerard este un om uimitor...prin cate a trecut si totusi a reusit sa ne captiveze...de fapt, sa ne obsedeze! sunt foarte multe de spus despre el doar ascultand muzica pe care o face... si cata pasiune pune in ceea ce face...

huh..am patit si eu asa ceva...ma rog...eu nu eram prea mica(aveam 12 ani) knd bunica mea si cea mai buna prietena a mea a murit....am fost trista km 2 luni, si n-am vrut sa cred k murise...apoi mi-am dat seama k e adevarat si am incercat sa evit subiectul..acum nu mai sunt asa sensibila la aceasta tema...a trecut mult oricum :-)
